IN BRIEF

Slice of Life

Cardboard City: A grandfather and grandchild in “Cardboard City,” a slum for nearly 1,000 Roma people under a bridge in Belgrade, Serbia, with no running water, sewage or electricity. People lived in shelters made of cardboard and other scraps and collected garbage for money. The settlement was depopulated at the end of August 2009.
